Two separate worlds. In one of them lives Alila, trying to balance her job with school, until she meets Raiziar – and everything changes in her life. On another world lives the Great Mother, a Matriarch who sees her lands invaded by terrible criatures, the Shadows. They herald the attack of an army of men whose only desire is power. Raiziar is the link between the stories: he has tattooed on his skin nine strange power tattoos. And he may help the two worlds, but only if he can awake the power endowed by the tattoos.
